Attribution looks wrong
Diagnose why a conversion is credited to the wrong channel, or attribution data is missing.
Symptom
Section titled “Symptom”Attribution looks wrong — the wrong channel, campaign, or click gets credit for a conversion, or attribution data appears to be missing entirely for a visitor you know clicked a link.
Likely causes
Section titled “Likely causes”-
GET /s/{code}had already expired or was paused before the click (410), or the click never resolved through Retidal at all.bash curl -s -o /dev/null -w "%{http_code}\n" https://api.retidal.com/s/{code}# 410 means the link itself is the problem, not the attribution logic downstream -
The event that should carry
clickIdswas sent without them, or after the attribution window had already closed.Console → Projects → Visitors → (select the visitor) — check the visitor’s attribution fields (short link,
utmSource/utmMedium/utmCampaign,clickIds) for the click in question. The Links page’s per-link analytics only shows aggregate click counts and device breakdown, not individual visitors. -
The underlying data is older than the 90-day retention window and its source rows have already been purged — this data cannot be recovered or recomputed, by design.
Console → Projects → Decision funnel — a data-gap indicator for a date range this old confirms it is outside the 90-day window, not a bug.
Still stuck
Section titled “Still stuck”If the click and attribution data are both within the retention window and still look wrong, see Decisioning not firing or the health checklist.
